It’s a food truck! So don’t expect the atmosphere of an inside restaurant. Personally, I thought the environment was perfect for the area and for the style of food. Now to the important part...the food! The seafood was, so far, the freshest I’ve seen on Maui (I’ve only been here 2-3 days so maybe I’ll find even fresher!). Very fresh, and well prepared. I ordered the mahi, it due to a happy mistake the owner gave me the ahi instead. I decided to keep the ahi since I was see-sawing between the two anyway. The ahi on top of that bed of garlic rice with some of the crema... so yummy. My friend ordered a box of mixed tacos which she said was good (I didn’t try personally). The tacos looked very simple, but she said they were fresh and that’s exactly how she prefers them. We also got an appy of scallops and sweet potato fries. Scallops were cooked perfectly and sweet potato fries were well fried with a unique bbq-ish sauce! Definitely worth trying. Sides: garlic butter rice with (I think) saffron was perfectly seasoned for me. I could eat that on its own. Sweet potato (ube) salad i was a little skeptical about, but so yummy too! Wish I could have had more. Couple tips: - lots of options, so take your time to pick or find a friend to share with! - bring water with, you can buy it there too, but if you really want to see how fresh the fish is, don’t keep things simple - salad is dressed with a mango salad, so it might surprise you when you taste it. Side note, that mango dressing also goes well in the ahi! - if you can, save space for dessert, nearby is a unique little ice-cream truck that I’ll write a review for too and, if you like shaved ice, it’s in the area too (on my list to try if I can) I hope I can make it back before I leave Maui. I’ll definitely try the mahi mahi next time! P.S. we had some chicken friends come visit. Don’t fall for their adorableness and feed them!

Food was great for the price we paid. We went here twice while we were here. There was a good amount of parking (and it was free!) and tables to eat at. The second time we went they were pretty slammed but still got our order out to us in about 20 min. The coconut shrimp is big and fried perfectly. The scallop plate I thought was a great value for 18 you get 5 decent sized scallops on top a bed of yellow rice. The purple sweet potato salad that came with it was great as well!

Kihei Fish House was hands down the best restaurant I experienced during my time in Maui. We ordered the scallops, and for the price, the portion was generous and satisfying. The real standout, though, was the coconut shrimp—crispy, golden, and absolutely packed with flavor. Easily one of the best takes on coconut shrimp I’ve had. We were lucky to arrive before the rush. Right after we got our food, the line started building fast. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend getting there early, as the wait can get long during peak hours. There’s plenty of seating available, and while it’s a casual, no-frills setup, the space was relatively clean and comfortable. It’s the kind of laid-back, local spot where the focus is clearly on good food, and it absolutely delivers. A must-visit if you’re in the Kihei area and looking for fresh, flavorful seafood without the fine-dining fuss.

Fantastic calamari and fish! The calamari came with yummy purple yam and salad. The purple yam is grown in Hawaii, the salad had a great mango sauce. Both dishes were amazing! Great customer service too today. I definitely recommend this food truck, they have their own little picnic tables you can eat at as well. Additionally, it’s across from Kalama park, if you want to eat right by the ocean.

I had the coconut shrimp and it was bomb. It was during lunchtime, so it was a bit hot eating outside, even though I was sitting in the shade. The guy running the truck is really nice too.
